Dialer/Gateway - FAQ

iamge

Two NT with several basic numbers are connected to an ADC 30XXX. Which basic number must be entered into the local dialer number field in Remote Control? Use one of them (it doesn’t matter which one).

What has to be done at cascading of dialers? The dialer number has to be entered in comity® -> Device Setup in the input field device ID for cascading.

Comity® gives the message No response from device. Possible reasons:
1. Dialer has a problem with power support.
2. The serial data transmission was interrupted.
3. Check the comity® -> Connection -> COM port settings.

Is it possible to switch the dialer in bypass via remote? No!
Because after that a remote control were not longer possible, but it is possible to configure a bypass number. If the customer dials this number first, the call will not be routed.

Is it possible to reset the dialer by remote control? Yes!
You have to connect to the dialer via Telnet.
After login into Level 2, press R and then after the message \"Reset DOR, enter securitycode\" appears you have to enter the password for the reset. (For the 3- and 4-Port Dialer you can Reset the Slave board as well with DR and Password)

No ISDN/IP download, no Telnet dial in? Possible reasons:

- Check the power supply

- Dialer is not connected to the ISDN/IP line.

- The numbers of the remote center and local
dialer inclusive extension from comity® Remote
Control must be saved in the dialer. At the
download the dialer checks the calling party
number/IP address (number/IP address of the
remote center) and the called party number/IP
address (local dialer number/IP address inclusive
  extension).

- Be sure that the bearer service unrestricte digital
information and Fax Group 4 is released on ISDN
  Dialer side.

- IP: Ports 23 (Incoming) and 7023 (outgoing) must
  be usable by the Firewall

What has to be noted if a dialer is connected to a PMP line?

No other devices but the dialer should be connected to the NT. Please connect all other devices to the out port of the dialer.

Note: For ADC341 is valit that because of the free configurable switching matrix there is one terminal equipment connectable to one port only. There is no power supply for a whole ISDN BUS available (Adapter for additional power necessary).

No calls possible or why does the dialer use only one calling direction?

1. Wrong port configuration
Check whether you are connected to PP or PMP. You can find it in a Trace for the TEI:

TEI=0 -> PP-connection
TEI=64-126 -> PMP - connection
TEI=127 -> Broadcast-TEI for all devices at S0-Bus or if TEI is unknown

2. If calls in physical bypass are possible, check the physical connection (the send and receive lines on network and PBX side may be changed).

How to stop error history full calls from dialer?

By the remote control or local over comity® Terminal:

After login to level 1 with the password "$dor" enter \"f\" to see the configuration.

Example:
DOR> Login> ****< Level 1
DOR> Glob. Konfig: $46 $2c
Protokoll: $10 $0
Escape-Digits:'0' und '00' Signaltone: 0
cut digits in display ext: 0 int: 0

Note: The hexnumber $01 may be shown as $1.
The configuration of the dialer can be changed on the level 2 (password $DOR) after enter “F”. You don´t need to change the GlobFlag[0], simple repeat the old value.

Example:
DOR> Login >****< Level 2
DOR> GlobFlag[0]:46
You must add hexnumber 40 only to GlobFlag[1], for all other configuration flags put in the same value as given out with \"f\":

Example:
GlobFlag[0]:46
GlobFlag[1]:6c
(For the further information see the comity® manual Chapter 7 Terminal)

Don’t change the Protocol - Ports settings.

After you log out with l you have to wait until you get the message: " DOR> :Crc is computed, please wait $B146:004C $755D CRC:$2335 $7fde $1741 $74e4"

Flash:$13 $13
Please wait until 'Flash ok', configuration is saved
Logout
DOR> Flash OK
With comity® version newer than 2.3 the error history calls can be disabled in Device Setup with flag enable history calls.
