AOC - FAQ

iamge

Why does the dialer still generate AOC after the end of the call? Some carriers signalize the call release of the B-Channel end with a busy-tone only but the dialer stops generating AOC only with a disconnect message.

After preparation of the konfig.bin (comity® -> Connection -> MAMS Support -> Prepare data for server (current device))you get the message AOC Script not valid, but the script really exists. Workaround:
In this message the error causing script line is showed. Click on this line in the valid AOC script (comity® -> AOC) and confirm with OK. The next window has to be closed with OK without any changes. Afterwards prepare the Konfig.bin again. Solved in comity® version since 2.4

Dialer generates very high AOC for some calls. If there is no AOC link for a carrier used the price script for these calls in the AOC link is automatically set to DEFAULT. Set the correct AOC information. The standard value of the DEFAULT AOC is 1 unit per second.

No AOC generation. What has to be done? After installation the dialer needs AOC information from PSTN side (AOC learning procedure) for one time. If there is no AOC from the PSTN side you have to initiate a AOC manually as follows: login over the comity® -> Terminal in level 2, enter V. At request enter 2, AOC generation is now activated. Close the session with logout.
Check whether the flag generate AOC in comity® -> Carrier is set.

How to configure the generation of AOC in minutes, seconds or units?

In comity® -> Device Setup the \"cost of each charging unit\" value is set to 0.12 as standard. This is equal to a 0.12 currency unit of the user country. Over comity® -> AOC you can reach the window, where you can set your own values by doubleclicking on a line or by pressing the NEW button.

For further information look at Chapter 5 Starting and setting up comity in the comity® manual.

Examples for Germany:
Definitions: 20 ct per minute (every minute a AOC). The value x/y means x duration with y costs.

- At 60/0,20 (duration/price in AOC script) generates the dialer each 60 sec a rate signal. Because it is not a multiple of 0,12 the costs are always a little bit greater or equal as in the CDR file, because there will be a count only at whole minutes. In the CDR file from the dialer the amount is always equal to the real value.

- 1,0/0,0033 means that the cost signal from dialer will be generated each second. But AOC will generated only if 0,12 is reached. In the CDR's every second is billed exactly, therefore you can have a difference between displayed values and CDR's.

- 36 /0,12: AOC is generated only if 0,12 is reached, in this example after 36 seconds. In the CDR's self it's billed in units of 36 seconds in 0,12 steps.

Are Sonic ISDN VoIP gateways able to supply AOC also to the VoIP calls? Yes, definitively.
The same standard AOC-features are supported for VoIP-calls as well known for all other Sonic LCR-Dialers/Routers.
